Juniper ZTP Setup Part 5 - Conclusion

Once my ZTP test environment was setup, I decided to take it out for a spin.

  1. First, I powered up a vQFX.
  2. Once the switch had booted up, the following information scrolled across the screen.
    • Auto Image Upgrade: Server::      "192.168.255.254"
      Auto Image Upgrade: Image File::  "NOT SPECIFIED"
      Auto Image Upgrade: Server File:: "office_sw_vc0.config"
      Auto Image Upgrade: Gateway::     "192.168.255.1"
      Auto Image Upgrade: Protocol::    "http"
  3. Next the switch downloaded an updated configuration file.
    • [Sat Sep 23 09:44:11 UTC 2017] Auto Image Upgrade: Start fetching office_sw_vc0.config file from server 192.168.255.254 through em0 using http
      [Sat Sep 23 09:44:11 UTC 2017] office_sw_vc0.config                                    11 kB   50 MBps

      [Sat Sep 23 09:44:11 UTC 2017] Copied /var/tmp/office_sw_vc0.config to target directory
  4. After a little while the switch was up and ready to go.
    • [Sat Sep 23 09:44:15 UTC 2017] Auto Image Upgrade: Committed Configuration office_sw_vc0.config received from 192.168.255.254 through em0
